Emily's Officers
****
Emily is blessed with an amazing circle of family
and friends, each person uses their best attributes
to do some amazingly heartfelt things to assist
in Emmy's care. For example her parents, Perry
and Lisa.
Early on Lisa and Perry decided that they would
attack this challenge at 2 levels, keeping Emily
happy and healthy and at the same time making
a difference by raising money for and awareness
of Cystic Fibrosis. While Mom and Dad work tirelessly
on both tasks they have also split their duties
with Lisa focusing on keeping Emily healthy
and happy and Perry focusing on raising money
and awareness...

Commander and Chief: Perry
Daskas
Profile:
When Emily was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis,
Perry immediately went into action spreading
awareness by publishing a quarterly newsletter.
Through it’s distribution he was also
able to raise money for research of the disease.
Shortly thereafter Perry started volunteering
his time to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in
whatever capacity was needed.
Eventually Perry joined the board of directors
and has donated countless hours of time and
boundless energy, not to mention thousands of
dollars, supporting CF research. He has been
involved in the Great Strides Walks, Poker Tournaments,
Car Shows and many more events than even his
own his troops have been made aware.
The Angels Baseball 65 Roses Golf Classic
is one event in which Perry took special interest.
His take-charge personality allowed him to work
as a volunteer for only a short while before
he felt the need to step up and chair the event.
This annual event is in its 28th year however
in the last four years, it has consistently
raised over $150,000.
Perry continues to inspire/enlist new recruits
to Emily’s Army as he inexhaustibly leads
the way toward finding a cure.

Major Generals: Mike
and Denise Silva
Profiles:
As friends of Emily and her parents, Mike and
Denise have been steadfast supporters of Emily's
Army. They have given of their time, money and
business in support of our cause. While raising
thousands of dollars on our behalf, they are
also raising awareness. Using their family restaurant,
Kayes Kitchen, in Garden Grove, California they
held fundraisers where many people joined in
to support the cause. At their business, Great
Reunions, they have started an ad campaign where
all the monies paid for advertising goes directly
to CF. This generous act has raised thousands
of dollars for research, as did their amazing
gift of $10,000 at the Angels Care tournament
in 2005. More importantly, their personal dedication
to Emily and all children with CF has a direct
impact on the lives of all people touched by
this disease.
